If you are a non-EU citizen and have completed your graduation from a university in Spain, you may apply for a job search visa. It’s a residence permit granted to those who have finished their studies in Spain and wish to live and work for an employer in Spain or start their own company.

Foreigner students can apply for this student permit 60 days before your authorization as a student expires or 90 days afterwards. And that won’t necessarily match the duration of your studies.

This job search visa acts like a bridge to get a work permit in Spain. Thus, once you get an employment offer, you must initiate your work permit application process in Spain, so that you can start working.

You can apply for this visa 60 days before or 90 days after finishing your studies in Spain, and you’ll be allowed to stay in Spain for up to 12 months to find a job or to start your business.

To qualify for a job seeker visa in Spain, you must:

  • Have finished your studies, i.e., at least level of 6 that is equivalent to a bachelor’s degree, or a Masters’s degree, i.e., level 7, or a Ph.D., i.e., level 8
  • Have health insurance
  • Be economically independent and have enough funds to stay in Spain during job research

Eligibility Requirements for Education in Spain

Though the key requirements with regards to admission and programs may vary depending on the academic institution you select to study, however, a few common requirements would be:

  •  Grade 12 to get enrolled for an Undergraduate study in a University or B School.
  •  3-4 years degree to get enrolled for a Postgraduate study in a University or B School.
  • IELTS is NOT mandatory.
  • Maximum 5 years of study gap is acceptable with documentary evidence.
  • A minimum of 50% in previous qualification is required for getting admission for UG studies and PG studies.
  • GMAT / GRE is NOT required for admission for Management and Engineering courses.
