If you are a Canadianstudy permit holder, then your spouse or common-law partner can apply for an open work permit and you can indicate in your application that he/she will accompany you to Canada.Your spouse or common-law partner would be eligible for an open work permit.
While you’re studying, he or she can work full- or part-time for any employer in Canada without needing a Labor Market Impact Assessment (LMIA).
If you are granted a post-graduate work permit once you complete your studies, your spouse or partner is eligible to renew their open work permit for the duration of your post-graduate work permit too.
International students are also eligible to bring their dependent children with them while they study. If your dependent child is school-aged, they are eligible to attend one of Canada’s free public elementary or secondary schools while you study without needing their own student permit.
5. Is there any minimum proof of funds requirement while applying for a study permit?
Yes, you need to show Proof of financial support to prove they you have sufficient funds to financially support yourself including your tuition fees&living expenses. Students can submit their Canada study visa application to IRCC under two categories ( Student Direct Stream- SDS or Generic Category)
Under, Student Direct Stream, a student has to pay one year tuition fees and have obtained a Guaranteed Investment Certificate (GIC) of $10,000 from one of the financial institutions approved by Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada to provide this service.
Under Generic Category, students need to show additional financial documents, like Income Tax Returns of sponsor, 6 months old bank statements, Chartered Accountant evaluation report on liquid & fixed assets, Fixed Deposits, etc
